King Fredrik of Denmark has announced his new signature, which shares important features with King Charles’ signature.
The 55-year-old king took the throne earlier this month after his mother Queen Margrethe abdicated, ending her 52-year reign.
Earlier this week, the Danish royal family’s official Instagram account posted a photo of a 100th birthday card signed by the new king.
The post was captioned: “Today, a boy celebrates his 100th birthday in a small town in northern Jutland and receives blessings from His Majesty the King for the first time.”
The post also explained how King Frederick decided to continue this tradition of sending cards to people celebrating their 100th, 105th and 110th birthdays.

In addition, King Frederik reiterated how he will congratulate couples celebrating their 60th, 65th, 70th and 75th wedding anniversaries.
In addition, the Danish royal family posted a photo of a birthday card printed on white paper with a code written on it.
Below a printed message of congratulations, King Frederik unveiled his new signature for the first time since becoming official monarch.
Like King Charles, the monarch signed his name with an “R” from “Rex,” which is Latin for king.
Queen Mary’s new signature has not been revealed, but she will probably also use an “R” like Queen Camilla.
In September 2023, King Charles and Queen Camilla signed birthday cards for Britain’s oldest living man and woman. John celebrated his 111th birthday this summer, and Ethel turned 114.
Shortly after the Queen’s death in September 2022, Buckingham Palace unveiled a new royal cipher featuring the initials of the King’s name “Charles” and title “Rex” and the Roman numeral III.

The father of four, dressed in military uniform, took a deep breath as he looked at his entourage as they asked for permission to walk onto the balcony.

The video then jumps to Queen Mary on the balcony with her husband waving to a crowd of royal fans.
King Frederik’s younger brother Prince Joachim, whose children were stripped of their royal titles last year, looked pensive as he admired the impressive balcony view from inside the palace.
From inside the palace, Queen Mary, who wore an elegant white dress by Søren Le Schmidt for the occasion, can be seen clinging to her daughter Princess Josephine.
The 13-year-old looked neat and smart in a black coat with gold buttons and her hair tied in a half-up, half-down tie with a ribbon.
Princess Isabella, 16, wearing a red coat, lovingly placed her hand on the shoulder of her younger brother Prince Vincent, while Prince Christian stood behind his mother and siblings.
The video then jumps to Queen Mary climbing onto the balcony and waving to a crowd of royal fans with her husband.
The couple looked emotional as they shared a loving look before being joined by their four children.
Prince Joachim, the younger brother of King Frederik, whose four children were stripped of their royal titles in January 2023, watched the scene unfold from the balcony from inside the palace, looking pensive.
The 54-year-old royal attended the ceremony without the support of his wife Princess Marie and their two children, Count Henrik, 14, and Countess Athena of Mompezat, 11.
After Queen Margrethe stripped her grandchildren of their royal titles, Joachim and his second wife moved with their children to Washington, D.C. (where the royal family works as defense industry attachés at the Danish embassy).
