Ammon News – His Majesty King Abdullah II met with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on Friday and emphasized the need to end the war in Gaza.

During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the 60th Munich Security Conference, His Majesty called for a lasting ceasefire leading to a ceasefire in Gaza, and praised Qatar’s diplomatic and humanitarian efforts in supporting the Palestinian people.

The King noted the importance of cooperation among Arab countries to alleviate the difficult situation in the Gaza Strip and stressed the need to ensure the uninterrupted provision of adequate aid to Gaza.

His Majesty called for the creation of a political horizon conducive to a comprehensive, just and durable solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on a two-state solution and to guarantee the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on June 4, 1967. Its capital is East Jerusalem.

The discussion also highlighted the deep-rooted ties between the two countries and the importance of strengthening them in all areas for mutual benefit.

On the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, the King also met with Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.

The discussion also addressed Jordan’s relationships with these countries and NATO, as well as the ongoing war in Gaza, with His Majesty urging the international community to impose a ceasefire and step up efforts to prevent the conflict from escalating and spilling into the region. I asked for it.

The King also called for protection of civilians and ensuring the uninterrupted provision of aid, a lifeline for the 2 million Palestinians facing starvation and critical services for Palestinian refugees in other parts of the region. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the support provided to UNRWA.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Head of His Majesty’s Office Jafar Hassan, and Jordanian Ambassador to Germany Youssef Bataineh.
