A WOMAN has revealed that her home was branded the ugliest in Ireland because of the design her mother chose.
Keirin Moncrief showed off her home on social media – brightly decorated pink Exterior walls and orange and brown floors.
She said, “My parents’ house will be featured on Instagram’s “Ugly Irish Houses” page.”
“I just thought I’d bring it back because it’s funny,” she added.
“FYI, it wasn’t necessarily that ugly.
“Honestly, it might have been better when we first moved in.”
She then showed me the house when they first moved in, which looked like a normal house with white walls, wood paneling along the windows, and matching doors.
However, soon the house was renovated so lavishly that even the neighborhood association wrote a letter of complaint to the family.
She revealed that her parents blindly bid on the house, which needed a lot of work, but decided to do the work while living there.
However, things did not go as planned.
“They literally bought it for far more than it was worth. It took a lot of work,” Keelin explained.
However, when the recession hit, her mother lost her job and her father took a significant pay cut, so much of the work she had planned was never completed.
Although much of the work was not completed, the mother decided to keep the warm wood paneling and paint the exterior of the house a bright pink.
“I would also like to add that my mother only painted this house pink after my parents separated,” she said.
“And I don’t know if it was some kind of revenge to lower the value of the house.”
Keelin also shared an equally bold look at the home’s interior.
Her father decided to tile the floor himself and chose an orange and brown theme.
At one point, she said, the stairs made a “rattling” sound every time she stepped on them.
In addition, the mother decided to choose bright red and green colors for the walls and floor.
She gave the second floor walls a bold, bright green paint job. red carpet.
The clip, posted to her TikTok account @kee_mon, has since gone viral with over 485,000 views and 43,000 likes.
People were quick to comment and share their thoughts about the house.
One person wrote: “This isn’t Ken’s dream house, it’s Barbie’s dream house.”
Another commented: “I love it to say the least.”
“This is interesting,” wrote a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth resident said: “Sorry, but this looks like a house that was part of a 70’s home modification program.”
“Looks like someone murdered an elf in the house,” a fifth man claimed.
Another added: “I live above this road and to be honest, the pink has added a bit of life to the otherwise boring property. nice It’s a way to annoy the upper class old men. ”
“The neighborhood association sent us a letter of complaint,” Keelin replied.
