The golf course development announcement comes as Ravenport Resort, a luxury hotel with 50 guest rooms, a spa and leisure club, prepares to begin operations this spring. A golf course is also located in the same location. The €20 million project is a 25-year project to develop a golf destination and resort that will introduce travelers from around the world to the unspoilt beauty of the South East of Ireland, one of the country’s hidden gems. It is the culmination of a dream.
Voted “Ireland’s best beach” by readers of the Irish Independent, Caraclough Beach was the filming location for Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster film Saving Private Ryan. Frye and Straka’s previous work includes Erin Hills Golf Course in Wisconsin, site of the 2017 U.S. Open, and Calusa Pines in Naples, Florida, named one of the top 25 modern golf courses in the United States by Golf Week Magazine. Karakuro Link is different from other links in Japan because of its bold design.

Curraclo Links at Ravenport Resort is the second golf property owned by the Neville Group. In 2019, the company acquired ownership of his five-star Druid Glen Hotel and Golf Resort. A €10 million restoration of the golf course, designed by Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock, was completed last year and was awarded ‘Golf Resort of the Year’ by the Irish Golf Tour Operators Association.
