Nordic Foodtech VC has strengthened its presence in Denmark with the appointment of Louise Heiberg from PINC, the VC arm of the Paulig Group, as investment director. Heiberg brings extensive experience in food technology investing and a strong commitment to sustainable food systems. Denmark’s leadership in biosolutions, represented by companies such as Chromologics and her EvodiaBio, has positioned Denmark as a leading hub for food technology startups.
Founded in 2020, Nordic Foodtech VC focuses on early-stage investments in food technology across the Nordic and Baltic regions. With initial funding of €42 million, the company has already invested in 13 companies across Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Estonia. Nordic Foodtech VC, known for its deep foodtech expertise and commitment to incubating innovative startups, is currently raising its second fund. The company aims to expand its impact by supporting innovative ventures in the region while maintaining its strategic focus on deep food tech innovation.

With Louise joining the team, Nordic Foodtech VC strengthens its presence in Copenhagen. The fund already has two portfolio companies in Denmark. They are Chromologics, which develops natural food colorants, and Evodia Bio, which produces natural aroma compounds. Both stem from Denmark’s strong biotechnology research and industry. Denmark’s biosolutions industry files four to five times more patents per capita than the average of the 10 research-leading countries.
