A yellow weather warning is in place for Northern Ireland later today as the winds become stronger as Storm Jocelyn approaches.
The storm is approaching from the Atlantic Ocean and a gale warning will be in effect from 4pm on Tuesday.
The warning will remain in place until 1pm on Wednesday, when the winds have subsided.
The storm is not expected to be as severe as Storm Isha, but the Japan Meteorological Agency is predicting maximum wind gusts until 65 p.m. Coastal areas are expected to be the most affected.
Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with patches of rain, especially near the Sperrin Mountains, followed by some bright sunshine and showers. Strong winds will blow from the south to southwest, and the maximum temperature will reach 13°C.
By Tuesday night there will be well-defined intervals with occasional heavy showers, with strong southwesterly to gale-force winds veering west tonight, increasing in intensity at times and possibly blustering towards the north coast. . The lowest temperature is expected to be 7°C.
Wednesday will be sunny with a few showers, but strong westerly winds will ease during the day, with a high of 9°C.
