Norway’s government announced on Wednesday that it will send two F-16 fighter jets to Denmark to help train Ukrainian pilots, which Kiev has high hopes for.
Norway, along with Denmark and the Netherlands, announced last year that it would donate retired F-16s to Ukraine to replace them with more advanced F-35s.
However, Oslo has not yet announced the number of F-16s to be donated (expected to be only a handful) or the delivery schedule.
“Allies and countries will work day and night towards the goal of establishing a permanent and modern air force in Ukraine,” Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gramm said in a statement.
The Scandinavian country already supplies training personnel, with about 10 instructors.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said in his New Year’s address that his country’s “pilots are already mastering the F-16 fighter jet, and we will definitely see F-16s in our skies” in 2024. has vowed that the Russian military will feel the “wrath” of Ukraine.
