Over 1,900 professional students will compete in Taitaja2024 semi-finals across Finland

Finland is preparing Taitaja2024 semi-finals, a prestigious national vocational skills competition, is scheduled to be held from January 29 to February 2, 2024. He will be joined by more than 1,900 vocational trainees from across the country competing in various disciplines to qualify for the grand finale in Kuopio. May.

The Taitaja event, also known as the Finnish Skills Championship, showcases the talents of young students training in different vocational fields.

The semi-finals will be held at over 40 locations across the country and will serve as a preliminary to the finals. Only the top eight finishers in each category will advance to the final event in Kuopio, scheduled for May 20-23, 2024.

Approximately 500 students will compete in 50 different skill categories at the Taitaja2024 finals in Kuopio. These categories span a wide range of industries, including construction, catering services, automotive and transport technology, manufacturing, the service sector, and information and communication technology. The event also includes his TaitajaPLUS category, where students with special needs compete for national titles in their respective fields. Additionally, the Taitaja9 Finals, a manufacturing contest for high school students, will also take part in the event.

Petteri MakkonenTaitaja2024 competition director expressed pride at the record number of participants in the semi-finals. “We are thrilled to have so many participants in the Taitaja semi-finals,” he said.

The Taitaja2024 Kuopio event will be held at Savorti Campus of Sabon Vocational College and Kuopio Hall, with additional venues planned including Ila Sabo Vocational College in Kiurvesi and Pertosarmi, and South Savo Vocational College in Mikkeli.

Free and open to the public, the Taitaja event is Finland’s largest annual vocational education event. The sponsors of the Taitaja2024 Kuopio event are: Jele Raisanenan entrepreneur from Elcoline Oy and a former Taitaja competitor.

Taitaja2024 aims to raise the importance of vocational skills in Finnish society, with a focus on the theme of a sustainable future. The event’s slogan #YlpeästiAmmattilainen celebrates pride in professional craftsmanship and skill.
