Australian-born Mary Donaldson becomes Queen of Denmark after her husband Frederick is proclaimed King. local time Sunday afternoon in Copenhagen.
The event promises the kind of pomp and ceremony you’d expect from a royal coronation, but will be subdued compared to last year’s coronation of King Charles III.
The expansion is as follows.
Is it a coronation?
No, it’s not a term used by the Danish royal family.
Remember last year’s coronation of King Charles? At a large and lavish church service, he was anointed with oil and a large crown was placed on his head.
This was once the case in Denmark as well. The Danish Royal Family website states:
“The new king was anointed in a great religious ceremony and a crown was placed on his head.
“The anointing symbolized that the king received power directly from God; the king’s scalp, chest, and right wrist were anointed with consecrated oil.”
However, coronations are no longer held in Denmark.
A coronation ceremony is defined by Macquarie Dictionary as “the act or ceremony of conferring a crown on a monarch etc.”
Some may use “coronation” as a general term to encompass the event in which a new monarch is installed.
However, the Danish royal family seems to be leaning more towards the literal meaning of coronation: the act of placing a crown on the new monarch’s head.
For more than a century, the installation of a new monarch has been a more modest and dignified event without religious overtones, the website explains.
“Since the adoption of the Constitution in 1849, No coronation or anointing It happened in Denmark.
“Instead, Prime Minister announces new king from balcony In Christiansborg. ”
Therefore, it might be more accurate to call this a royal proclamation.
When was Denmark declared?
The main event will take place in Denmark in the early afternoon, with the first event scheduled for 1:35pm local time.
it works fine Sunday night and early Monday morning In Australia.
Where does Denmark’s declaration take place?
Main events will take place at the following locations Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark.
It begins with Prince Frederick, Princess Mary, and their son Prince Christian being driven away from their palace residence in a car, followed by Queen Margrethe in a carriage.
they leave Amalienborg Palace Complex — This is an octagonal courtyard surrounded by four separate but nearly identical palaces.

The next day, the new king and queen will return to Parliament for talks and a reception.
A week later, they are scheduled to attend a celebratory church service. Aarhus Cathedral.
It will be a longer journey for the royal couple, as Aarhus is on another Danish island more than three hours by car (via a tunnel) from Copenhagen.

Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old
daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put
the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and
it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is
completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
