For the past three years, we have been collaborating with researchers, recycling experts, behavioral experts, and other textile and fashion companies on the ReSuit project, Denmark’s first large-scale textile recycling project.
The ReSuit project, the Danish textile recycling initiative supported by Bestseller, has reached a key milestone in its three-year period. ReSuit worked with a variety of experts and industry leaders to improve the recyclability and longevity of textiles. The project successfully developed an innovative technology to recycle polyester textile waste into new fabrics.
ReSuit has aimed to develop new technologies that can set new standards in fashion design by converting textile waste into new fabrics, focusing on longer life and improved recyclability at disposal.
The project team is now ready to share additional positive findings.
Two new technologies
ReSuit has proven, among other things, that polyester fiber waste can be recycled into new polyester fiber. In addition, the project uses special methods to convert clothing into bio-oil and chemical components to produce new polyester and plastic-based materials, making it possible to transform clothing that was previously considered difficult to recycle. succeeded in recycling waste.

The ReSuit consortium includes Aarhus University, Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, Crossbridge Energy A/S, Eris Denmark, Behave Green, Technical University of Denmark, and Design School Kolding. This is supported by the Danish Innovation Fund.
