It was the first abdication in this country in 500 years, and some royal commentators say it may have been part of a “shrewd” maneuver to save their son’s marriage amid claims of an affair scandal. Suggests.

Rumors of an affair surfaced in November after Frédéric was photographed with former MasterChef star Genoveva Casanova in Madrid, where they were seen having a night out until 1am.

The TV star branded the claims “malicious” and completely untrue, but two weeks ago Crown Princess Mary was spotted crying and made a cryptic statement about loneliness. Speculation continued after the post was shared.

Royal author Phil Dampier told MailOnline: “I think Margrethe was worried that her marriage wasn’t working out and she had to take action.”

“I can’t help but think it has something to do with recent rumors that Prince Frederik spent the night with a Mexican socialite.”

He added: “The Queen has always thought Mary was a great asset to the royal family and if she had thought she might leave it would have been a disaster.”

“She would like Frederick and Mary to make up their differences and work together as the new king and queen.”

Australian-born Mary and Frederick, who met in a Sydney pub, have been married for 19 years and have four children.

Before their “fairy tale romance” began, he was dubbed the “spoiled” “Prince Casanova” who flirted with pop stars and drove fast cars.

Mary is widely credited as the person who helped him grow from a “party prince” to a devoted family man in the eyes of the Danish public.

As a young man, Frederick is said to have resented his parents for putting royal duties above his own.

Gitte Redder, an expert on the Danish royal family, previously told AFP: “Strictly speaking he was not a rebel, but as a child and young man he was very uncomfortable with the media attention and the knowledge that he was going to be king. I was holding her,” he said.

Frédéric was in a relationship with model Marou Armand for three years, but their romance ended after a scandal broke out between them.

On New Year’s Eve 1992, the couple was stopped by police, and Mr. Murrow was taken in by police on suspicion of drunk driving.

After the incident, their romance ended and the Danish royal family apologized on Frederick’s behalf.

He also had a romance with lingerie model Katja Storkholm in the late 1990s. They dated for nearly three years when he was in his late 20s and, according to royal reporter Trine Willeman, he was “head over heels in love.”

In his 2008 book 1015 Copenhagen K, Trine wrote about how the model suggested changes to his speech and guided him through his reluctance to fulfill his royal duties.

She claimed that Frederick secretly proposed to her, but was refused permission to marry by Queen Margrethe.

The prince also dated pop star Maria Montel in 1999, and met his future wife at the Slip Inn pub in Sydney in 2000 while visiting Australia to cheer on the Danish sailing team at the Olympics. I met Mary Donaldson.

Frederic has largely toned down his party boy image, but in 2008 he was reportedly kicked out of a Playboy-themed nightclub for a boozy “wild session on the dance floor.” .

At one point, he was seen stealing bunny ears from a waitress and putting them on a friend, before his bodyguard intervened at 3am and told him it was time to go home, News.com.au reports. He said he told him.

The website also reported that he was allegedly photographed dancing with a mysterious blonde woman at a Copenhagen nightclub days before the twins’ christening in 2011.

The crown prince also dated Danish pop star Maria Montel.

military nickname

After graduating from Aarhus University in 1995, Frederick joined the Dutch army.

He completed extensive military studies and was trained in all three of the country’s military services: Army, Air Force, and Navy.

During his time with the latter, he was given the nickname “Pingo,” meaning penguin, after he waddled when his wetsuit filled with water during training with the Frogman Corps, an elite diver corps.

Frederick was one of only four recruits accepted in 1995. Typically, only 12 out of 500-600 applicants complete the nine-month program.

The royal has a tattoo of a shark, the insignia of the Frogman Corps, on his right calf, and he also has a tattoo on his right arm that is believed to be a reference to his nickname “Pingo.”

In 2000, Frederick participated in a four-month, 2,175-mile ski and dogsled expedition across Greenland, earning him a reputation as a daredevil.

He has always been an avid sportsman, running marathons in Copenhagen, New York and Paris, participating in ski competitions and dragon boat races, and in 2013 became the first royal to complete the Ironman.

His popularity increased even further in 2018 when he launched the Royal Run, an annual fun run that takes him through five major cities across the United States, in honor of his 50th birthday.

Frederick’s passion for adrenaline-filled pastimes led to him being hospitalized multiple times due to sledding and scooter accidents.

Royal expert Gitte Redder says: “He’s a sportsman and goes to concerts and football games, so he’s more approachable than his mother.”

Frederick himself also hinted that he had no intention of reducing his involvement in sporting activities after taking the throne, explaining: “I don’t want to confine myself to a fortress. I want to be myself, a human being.”

The prince has also co-authored a book on climate change, is involved with the Danish Olympic Committee, and started a foundation to financially support students of social policy and science.

Frederic met Mary, who is often said to be a look-alike of Duchess Kate, when he was 32 and she 28. They dated long distance for a year until she moved to Denmark in 2001.

Mary recalled their encounter and said: “The first time we met, we shook hands. I didn’t know he was the Prince of Denmark. Half an hour later, someone came up to me and said, ‘Do you know who these people are? Do you want to do it?’ I said.”

The two married in 2004. Mary is considered a “great asset” to the Danish royal family, a role she assumed after her marriage to Frederick.

She is a patron of over 25 organizations and has started her own charity focusing on domestic violence, bullying and loneliness.

In a recent poll, 85% of people had a positive opinion of Mary, which was attributed to her fluency in languages and her commitment to royal duties and charity work.

In recent years, Frederick and Mary have taken on more royal duties due to Queen Margrethe’s poor health, and some believe this may have contributed to the queen’s decision to abdicate.

However, given the recent uproar, there is growing speculation that this may have been a wise move to bring Princess Mary on side.
