SINGAPORE – Singapore residential gas prices will increase by 0.73 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) before the 9% Goods and Services Tax (GST) from 1 January 2024 to 31 March 2024 It is expected to cost 23.15 cents per kWh. .
Currently, households pay 22.42 cents kWh.
City Energy, Singapore’s sole city gas pipe supply company, said in a statement on Friday (December 29) that the increase was due to higher costs compared to the previous quarter.
Last quarter, from October 1 to December 31, 2023, City Energy increased gas rates by 0.51 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) to 22.42 cents per kWh. At the time, the gas provider also noted an increase in fuel costs compared to the previous quarter.
City Energy said gas prices were reviewed based on guidelines set by the gas industry regulator, the Energy Market Authority (EMA). The following revised gas prices have been approved by the EMA.
