Sky UK and Ireland boss Stephen van Rooyen to resign – The Hollywood Reporter

Comcast’s Sky Group announced Monday that Stephen van Rooyen has decided to leave the business at the end of February. He has served as CEO and Group CCO of his Sky UK and Ireland. Effective immediately, Sky’s UK and Ireland operations will report directly to Group CEO Dana Strong.

“I would like to thank Stephen for his significant contribution to Sky over the past 18 years,” Mr Strong said. “He will develop and build our brand, develop and launch our products, take our UK business into new markets, lead our people and ensure our customers are at the heart of everything we do. It has played an important role.”

She also emphasized that: “He has brought significant growth to our company and left an impressive legacy. We join all of his colleagues in wishing him the best of luck for the future.”

Mr van Rooyen said: Businesses today have everything they need to stay ahead of the competition. We have strong leadership led by Dana, a world-class team, and a great plan. ”

Van Rooyen did not immediately say what would happen next. However, he stressed about his time at Sky: “It was a real honour, and I will always be Sky’s biggest supporter.”
