Fresh snow fell in the southern region on Thursday.
Finland’s latest snowstorm broke out late Wednesday night and caused problems for commuters and public transport in southern Finland by Thursday morning.
The Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) issued a warning on Thursday about dangerous or potentially dangerous driving conditions in most parts of the country except Lapland.
Approximately 10 centimeters of new snow is expected to fall in the southern region, and 3 to 8 centimeters in the central region.
Some long-distance and local train services by Japanese National Railway operator VR were delayed or canceled on Thursday.
VR said trains and tracks were affected by the snow and urged passengers to prepare for schedule changes.
For example, Intercity train number 22 from Rovaniemi to Helsinki was running about 30 minutes late. The company said a fault occurred in the railway system in Central Ostrobothnia, causing hour-long delays on four other railway lines.

Airport operator Finavia said the snowy weather conditions were expected to continue throughout the day, causing some incoming international flights to be canceled and many flights delayed on Thursday.

According to state traffic control company Fintraffic, there were a number of fender bending and minor collisions in the capital region on Thursday, but no major accidents were reported in the morning.
