Approximately 50,000 people are without power in Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) confirmed on Sunday night that around 45,500 customers were without power, but that number could rise further as the storm progresses.
Damage includes downed overhead power lines, fallen trees across power lines, and broken utility poles.
On Monday morning, NI Power’s power check map showed a number of power outages remained.
“We have mobilized additional call agents to assist our customers with any questions regarding the repair process in their area.

NIE Networks also reminded customers of the precautions they should take in the event of a power outage.
• Never approach broken overhead power lines or damaged utility poles, and keep children and animals away. Please report any incidents immediately to the NIE Network on 03457 643 643.
• When using a generator, be careful about its location to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.
• If power supply is lost, turn off electric cookers, ovens, irons, etc.
• Leave the light on so you know when power is restored.
• Be especially careful when using candles.
• Test the smoke alarm with new batteries.
• If using a gas heater, ensure adequate ventilation.
• Customers who experience a loss of supply should first check to see if their neighbors also have power outage and check their household fuses and trip switches before contacting NIE Networks.
