A list of Ireland’s top 10 dog walking spots has been released and includes two routes in County Mayo.

Keem Beach in Achill came in fourth on the list, with Wild Nefyn National Park securing seventh place.

In collaboration with Betfair Casino, each spot’s popularity is measured by a unique index score based on TripAdvisor rankings, Instagram hashtags and views, with the lower the overall index score, the higher the ranking.

The famous Chiem Beach was recently named one of the world’s 100 best beaches by Lonely Planet, making it the only Irish beach to make the list.

Wild Nefin National Park, located in Letterkeene, will border California’s Yosemite National Park and encompass 15,000 hectares of uninhabited, unspoiled wilderness dominated by the Nefin Beg Mountains.

First place went to Killarney National Park in County Kerry.

From the coast to the countryside, the Emerald Isle offers a wealth of picturesque spots for locals and tourists alike to enjoy.

There’s so much to discover on foot, from popular national parks to endless stretches of stunning sandy beaches and ruins steeped in folklore.
