The Danish government plans to send military aid to Ukraine to boost its cyber defense capabilities.
The donation, worth more than 12 million euros ($13 million), will be used for “priority” initiatives in Kyiv to maintain its digital resilience against cyber-attacks.
The Danish Ministry of Defense wrote that the cybersecurity fund demonstrates Copenhagen’s continued support for the Ukrainian government’s critical IT infrastructure, which has been affected since Russia’s illegal invasion in 2022.
Danish Defense Minister: “This donation is an important contribution to long-term support for strengthening Ukraine’s cyber defense.” Troels Rand Poulsen said.
“Since the beginning of the invasion, Denmark has made a significant contribution to Ukraine’s freedom struggle, and this also applies to the cyber sector.”
“We have delivered several donations supporting Ukraine’s cyber defense and critical IT infrastructure. Therefore, it is also natural for us to contribute to support Ukraine in areas where we are already active. ”
Denmark, Czech Republic, Ukraine
Denmark announced its latest cyber military aid to Ukraine after signing a memorandum of understanding with the Czech Republic for similar purposes.
Under the agreement, Copenhagen and Prague will work together to send more donations to Kiev in response to Russia’s expansion into Ukraine. Bilateral cooperation will cover “many areas” that will strengthen Ukraine’s military in defense against Russia.
Throughout the project, Denmark and the Czech Republic will utilize strategic models used in previous deliveries of ammunition, vehicles and weapons to Ukraine.
The Danish Ministry of Defense will handle the bulk of the remittances, while the Czech Ministry of Defense will be responsible for direct communication with industry partners regarding each donation.
“The close bilateral cooperation between the Czech Republic and Denmark is an important step towards ensuring an uninterrupted flow of military aid to Ukraine,” Czech Deputy Minister of Defense said. Daniel Blaskovec Said.
“This cooperation addresses Ukraine’s current urgent needs and at the same time contributes to the transformation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces towards common NATO standards and at the same time provides Ukraine with technological superiority on the battlefield.”
