A “yellow status” wind and rain warning has been issued for several counties in Ireland until Sunday, amid warnings of dangerous travel conditions during the cyclone “Storm Geraldine”, as France’s Metro France has dubbed it. Below is a list of all counties with yellow alerts.
The system, which is currently affecting Ireland and the UK, has been named Storm Geraldine by the French Meteorological Agency.

The strongest winds were recorded in the southern part of the country and along the western coast.

The following counties are under status yellow wind and rain warnings:
Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Waterford, Galway, Mayo and Wexford.
The alert went into effect at 2am and will remain in place through Saturday, ending at 11pm.
According to Met Éireann, Ireland: “Winds will be strong and gusty from the south-west at times, producing heavy rain and thunderstorms.”
Yellow wind warning for Sunday
A yellow wind warning was subsequently issued for counties Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.
This alert will take effect at 11pm on Saturday and will remain in place until 5pm on Sunday 31 December.
“Westerly winds shifting to the northwest will be strong and gusty at times,” Met Eireann said.
